About Michael
For more than twenty-five years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching, performing, creating, and connecting with people through the violin.
Today, my passion is building a community where violinists of every age and level—from those picking up the instrument for the first time to advanced players, teachers, and professionals—can learn, grow, share, and inspire one another through a lifelong love of music.
My Story
The violin has been a central part of my life for more than twenty-five years.
During that time, I’ve had the privilege of teaching thousands of students, writing Fiddle For Dummies, creating more than 1,000 educational videos, and building violin education businesses.
But my journey hasn’t been a straight line.
Several years ago, I walked through one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I experienced personal loss, watched a business I had spent years building come to an end, and found myself starting over.
During that season, my relationship with Jesus transformed my perspective.
I discovered that my identity wasn’t found in success or failure, but in God’s grace. That transformation changed the way I approach my work, my family, and the people I have the privilege of teaching.
Today, I’m grateful to be married to my incredible wife, Maya, raising our daughter Lydia (and one on the way), and building a life centered on faith, family, and serving others.

A Lifelong Love of the Violin
The violin has been part of my family across generations, shaping how I think about music, teaching, and the lifelong connection we can build through music.
85 Years With the Violin
My grandfather Roberto began playing violin at eight years old and continued until age 93.
His discipline, consistency, and love of music shaped my understanding of what it truly means to become a lifelong violinist.
The Violin Journey Begins at Age 2
My two-year-old daughter Lydia is already beginning to show a genuine interest in the violin. Watching her curiosity grow has been incredibly exciting for me.
So much so that I recently bought her very first 1/16-size violin.
I have no idea where her violin journey will lead, but I’m excited to encourage that curiosity and see what happens.
